Trident can help your company design and build an effective corporate integrity system or any components that can facilitate a culture of integrity. We build our systems in line with the ISO 37001 standards and support collective action coalitions.
ISO 37001: 2016
In 2016, the International Standards Organisation (ISO) launched the ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) in an effort to introduce an international standard for corporate integrity systems. The ISO sets out various high-level policy requirements that acts as a flexible guideline for companies of any size to implement an effective integrity system.
The ISO 37001 is especially beneficial for companies operating in developing economies as it acts as an assurance for foreign investors that the company has implemented “adequate procedures” to safeguard its operations against corruption.
Interest in international legislation (such as the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the UK Bribery Act (UKBA) and the French Sapin II) is making anti-corruption policies and procedures ever more relevant for conducting business in our globalised world. The ISO 37001 is an effective way to mitigate a company’s risk, enhance its global reputation, and boost staff morale.
Trident Integrity has experience in helping corporations build up their corporate integrity systems in preparation for ISO certification. We build systems, policies and procedures in line with the requirements of the ISO 37001 as well as extensive research into industry best practices. We will help you plan, design, implement, monitor and improve your business integrity system to the highest international standard.
Trident Integrity’s staff are PECB-qualified lead implementers of the ISO 37001.
We are able to help you with your ISO 37001 certification journey from any point in the process. We have previously worked with clients such as Thumbprints Utd Sdn Bhd to analyse their system gaps, and are currently working with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) on a full-scale corporate integrity management system.

Code of business conduct
A well-designed Code of Business Conduct is an essential tool for companies serious about establishing high standards of integrity for their operation and presence in the marketplace. The Code is a central policy that sets out your company’s do’s and don’t’s and establishes the appropriate sanction mechanisms for those who fail to comply. Companies with an effective Code will be able to clearly communicate to both their staff and business associates the behaviour the company’s anti-bribery stance and policies.
Trident Integrity has extensive experience in creating effective Codes of Business Conduct for corporations of all sizes. The Codes are written with the nature and the operation of the organisation in mind, in line with the requirements laid out in the ISO 37001. Trident’s extensive expertise in these kinds of policies will ensure that your company will have in your hands a Code that matches your requirements and establishes your reputation as a company of integrity.
Previously we have worked with companies such as Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd to craft their Code of Business Conduct.

Integrity pacts
Has the procurement process in your company been checked for corruption points or had integrity measures installed? The World Economic Forum (WEF) estimates that corruption increases the price of contracts worldwide by 10% and 25 % in developing countries. A saving of even half this amount can substantially improve your company’s financial performance.
Integrity Pacts (IPs) have been used successfully worldwide to plug the leakages arising from misconduct in the allocation and management of contracts. The Pacts are bilateral agreements whereby each party agrees to abide by a code of conduct which prohibits certain behaviours which give rise to corruption.
Successful Integrity Pacts are built on top of existing policies, including a clear Code of Business Conduct; Sanctions to Misconduct; and a monitoring process that may include a Whistleblowing policy and procedure. These Pacts are extremely beneficial to your company as they are able to reduce corruption costs, clarify the duties and expectations of staff and suppliers with regards to corruption, and boost overall morale.
Trident Integrity can help you establish an effective standalone IP System that can be adapted into your company’s existing procedures, or as part of the foundations of a more comprehensive corporate integrity system.

Building coalitions for business integrity
Some corruption challenges are too large for a single entity to tackle alone, which is why Trident Integrity advocates the importance of collective action initiatives that are an effective tool in the fight against public-private sector corruption. “Collective action” is a form of organised activity by a group of people to address any issue.
While individual or small-to-medium sized companies are usually unable to wield influence in government or public agencies, collective action groups are able to harness the combined strength of multiple business entities to engage government and make significant change.
Trident Integrity provides Governments, NGOs and other organisations with assistance in designing and building effective coalitions in order to tackle the issues that matter the most to them. Trident will work closely with you and your partner organisations to plan, design, implement and manage your business coalition to ensure that you are able to directly address industry challenges. Each coalition we design is tailored to the nature of your needs and the landscape of each environment.
Trident offers access to international experts, and on-going support and solutions to ensure the success of your coalition. We combine our own experience with recognised best practice and research in order to develop the most effective strategy.
